I haven't posted my sonnet yet.... but it's almost ready - I'll get it up within the next couple of days..

Meanwhile - let's have some fun... Who's in for Devices of Sound... Alliteration and Onomatopoeia...

Let's learn some lighthearted levity

Hoot's

Can I join in on this? I know my sonnet wasn't too hot....does that mean I get kicked out of class?
Hope not!

Love and hugs,
Lizzie

Pretty please pick me to ponder the perilous perfections of alternating alliteration and omnipotent onomonatpoeia!!!

Perhaps i, pandora, can partake of this practically pragmatic pander and pool my passion for pristine poetry with my other personality to create a kind of clanging cadence to sweep the surrealistic socks of some sweet soul who happens to happen upon my heartfelt puff of prose or poetic imperfection.

in other words, can i play, too????

*wink*

I think:
She said she should shut-up some sorrowful schlock
Showcasing such sibilant speech sounding stock
So shrewd sounding syllables shamefully shock

In other words, she wants to play

Let's remember that alliteration isn't only about first letters . . . it also shows up in the interior of words ("the pestilential essense of conscientiousness?") or endings ("Hoot, mon, John's gone Don Juan!")  The possibilities are endless.

I acknowledge that I aspire to aquire the savvy for the subtlies of sound in the artistry of alliteration. Furthermore, I'll refrain from forming flagrantly pungent poetry. (I'm in)
