Why did I look at you
Even when I know
It means nothing to you?

Why did I call your name
Even when I know
Your feelings are still the same?

Why did I touch your face
Even when I know
I'd be falling from grace?

Why did I fall in love with you
Even when I know
I can never be with you?

I want to share
All your joys and sorrows
But you will never care
'cause I'm just a little sparrow

We live in different worlds
But I still refuse to see
You and I can never be together
You were never meant for me.

Hmm. Symptoms: Moping as a result of unrequited love.
Cure: Well, there isn't one but thats no reason to give up hope.
Keep smiling

koon: i think this is a good poem and it expresses your sentiment well, but i just dont get the "sparrow" metaphor... i think you need to either expand upon that image or to compliment it with another metaphor ascribed to your object of affection... such as "you are a mighty hawk/ and I a lowly sparrow"...

sincerely,
jerome the boy that wants more kool-aid

A savage place! as holy and enchanted
As e'er beneath a waning moon was haunted
By woman wailing for her demon-lover!

Thanx guys for stopping by and reading this poem. I'm really happy and hope too that we'll make it.

poetry_kills - well, in the Chinese text, sparrows are often used to personify someone that is of value but not recognized. Thanx for the comment!
