Who are you to tell me That I can't wear these clothes? You say they make me look trashy But how the hell would you know? Who are you to criticize The way I fix my hair Maybe no one else does it this way Tell me why do you care? Who are you to decide The one true love for me Maybe I'm already in love with him Did you ever think that could be? Who are you to wake me And disinigrate my dreams My one land of peacefulness And you ripped it at the seams. Who are you to convince me In this world I could never survive Why don't you stop tormenting me Go ruin other people's lives. Who are you to stop me From walking out that door I'll make it easy-I'm leaving, 'Cause you are no one anymore. By: Lacy |

Welcome to passions, and very nice work. I tend to feel that way towards my parents all too often. Family problems suck ![]() I am not a poet, I am merely one who speaks in emotion |

I've felt the same. And Welcome to Passions! Lovely poem. ~Astraea "Sometimes stars can only be seen in darkness." "Sorrow's crown of sorrow is remembering happier things." |

Welcome to Passions. Who am I to tell you? Is this what you wish to know? I'm the one that birthed you And watched you as you have grown. I'm the one who wiped your nose, And held you as you cried. I'm the one that answered, All the what's that and the whys? I'm the one that one that kissed your hurts And bandaged every scrape. I'm the one you ran up to, To protect you from your fears. I'm the one that looks at you, Growing up too fast. Feeling like I'm loosing you, Cause you run so fast. Please remember, this is my fear, You lovely child of mine. Of letting go to see you fall, To the harshness of this world. The day this gift was giv'n to me, The bundle was so small. I pledged my life and all I have, To keep you from harms way. I know not how to raise a teen, I'm learning as I go. Teach me what I need to know, Speak soft, true words to me. Talk to me and let me know, That I'm not loosing you. Show me that not matter what, The love 'tween us is true. Just thought I'd give you a parents perspective. It isn't that we want to crowd you or rule you. It is that we do not know how to let go. We need to know that in easing off we are letting you explore who you are and not loosing the child we love so dearly. Try speaking to your parents, not yelling or demanding but talking, listening and communicating. We are only human and we make mistakes, help us find the right way to deal with our children. |

Great poem. It's so easy to get frusterated by parents. Happens to me all the time. Poetry is a great way to let it out, especialy when you have a talent like yours. |

That was a great poem. I'm not sure what type of postion you are in with your parent(s) or your guardian(s). My father is deceased and all I have is my mother, and if it wasn't for her I wouldn't be who I am today. Our parents are just looking out for us. Just talk to THEM and let them know EXACTLY how you are feeling. They will take what you have to say to heart. Communication is the BEST. Arguments are NOT. ![]() (:***Stephani***:) "A true friend will always stay a friend whether or not you feel as though the friendship or relationship is about to end." |
