I look at you And see a friend Whom through all tears Has endured my pain as her own And who when in trouble Depends on me in return I see a confidant Who locks away all my secrets in her soul And gossips about me only Between her mind and heart I see a playmate Who shares my laughter and joy And enjoys it just as much And later looks back on it Only to relive it all over again And last of all I see a shackle Bound to me for life By memories only we share And thoughts of mine only she understands This was written for a VERY close friend of mine, whom i love and treasure and always will. I love you Kellie!! |

This is a very moving piece. I have one question though. A shackle? I understand what she was trying to say but a shackle is a burden. It is something that you have to bare. I do not believe that she meant that in this poem. Thanks for letting me state my opinion. ![]() |

I think it's great you wrote this for your friend. I hope she knows how special she is to have a friend like you. Apparantly you realize full well the treasure that her friendship is. ![]() Lyndz ------------------ "Peace and Love, tears of joy, kindness of strangers.
