Friends

once we said that we would always be friends
once we agreed to stick together
but in the end, we were naieve
to think that we would always have each other

we planned out our colledge
we mapped out our lives
we were all set to grow up
but we did not know the stregnth of times

we saw everything
as if it had already been done
we practically lived together
we always had alot of fun

but in the end
time tore us apart
first i moved away
then the distance moved our hearts

we tried to stay in touch
but it just didnt work
i was making new friends
and our friendship was left dead in the dirt

when we look back on it now
we see foolish thoughts
of times that would never end
and all the time we bought

we still get together
but its never the same
maybe we expect too much
maybe we've grown more sane

theres no hard feelings
we still love each other like brothers
the past has killed this friendship
but the future will bring others


i wrote this poem because i had some naustalgia about an old friend of mine, as the poem says, we were like brothers, until i moved, we still stay in touch, but its never the same, but when things drift apart like we did, its hard to truely miss it.  i miss the good times, but i dont think i would want to move back, because me and my friends have all changed, and we'd still be acting the same
