My best friend wrote this for me, because she is part of the class of 2000, and I still have one year left.

I knew there was something about you
The first time we met
Somehow I knew we would grow close
And become the best of friends
The more we talked
The more I realized
How very much alike we were
We were always there for each other
Through the good times and bad
Just like every friendship
Even we've had our fights
But we managed to work them out
You understand me
Like no one else ever has
You made me realize
That I am somebody
And not just another creature
God put on this earth
When you were in trouble
I came to your rescue
And stood by your side
You did the same for me
You proclaimed your love
And in my own way, I did too
Our friends are the same
We get along so well
We're so close we're often mistaken as sisters
Now that I'm leaving
Our time together is limited
But no matter where I am
My thoughts are always of you.

It is wonderful if you are luky enougth to have a friend like her.

Friends are gifts from God and we should treasure them in our hearts forever...

That's the nicest poem to write for a friend. Your are really lucky to have her. I know exactly what your friend feels like. Everyone has to let go sometimes, but in the end we'll find our friendships again, because they aren't something you loose easily.
