I hear the mocking echoes
Of your sunburned soul
They whisper to me in fading blues
"He's playing with fire," it says
"Stop before you burn too."
I lay in a puddle of stars
Silver and innocent against the black blanket
I reach out to grab one...
Holding on for life
Take me somewhere safe
I stand alone.
The tears fall from the sky
And I ilet them cleanse me
I let them wrap around me
To stop the fire... to keep me safe
I walk down the broken and cracked road
I look back once...and I see him
Standing in dirty snow.
His eyes are hallow and icy
He holds out his hand
But there is no feeling behind the rough exterior
Simply blackness
I smile and reach for my silver piece of heaven.
I am free.

Welcome to Passions! This is a beautiful poem! It's always wonderful to possess that "silver piece of Heaven". Check your e-mail for a special welcome! <!signature-->

Oh wow... this is so incredibly gorgeous! People need to read this... It's wonderful. I could go on... but I think I've said what I need to say.

The whole poem is just so beautiful! Keep writing! I'll be looking for more of your work.

"We prefer to do things comfortably" said the Controller.
"But I don't want comfort. I want God, I want poetry, I want real danger, I want freedom, I want goodness. I want sin."
"In fact," said Mustapha Mond, "you're claiming the right to be unhappy."
"Alright then," said the Savage defiantly, "I'm claiming the right to be unhappy." -Aldous Huxley "Brave New World"

I really love this poem Might be easier to read if broken into stanzas but beautiful just the same!

"The worst of what people do to one another is deceive.
Because when you love someone you control their version
of reality. If you lie to them that's like making them
autistic so that what they believe is reality is in fact,
not their true situation at all."

It's not the angry words that break the heart, it's the silence.

Someone said that true love is like a ghost -- often spoke of but never seen.
I've seen both and yet in my darkest hours, tend to believe that neither exits.

Cling on tight to your "piece of heaven". I am glad you found it. Beautiful poem.

Love and hugs,
