hey you guys -- i am re-posting this one in honor of the day   don't forget to tell your moms you love them, even if you don't like them

                 Mother's Love

She sees me struggle to sit up,
Sees me struggle to crawl.
She watches as I take my first step
And can't help but wonder where I'll go.

One step after another
With mothers guiding hands,
I learned to walk, then run.
Soon I'll go out to play.

All this time she watches her child,
Watches me grow and grow.
But always she remembers
To let in the light when I get scared.

She sees me grow older,
Sees me grow wiser.
She watches as I learn to love
And wonders if she's doing right.

Day by day, year by year,
With mothers guiding hands,
I learned to read, then right,
Soon I'll do more on my own.

All this time she watches her child,
Watches as I become a lady.
But still she remembers
To let in the light when i get scared.

She sees my struggles with God,
Sees my struggles with life.
She watches as I do more on my own
And can't help but wonder where I'll go.

Now that I am almost grown
I see how much she really cared,
And wish that I could unsay so many things
And tell her how much she means to me.

She's been through so much,
Always showed so much strength.
She's taught me how to love,
Even through the hate.

Now as I prepare to leave the nest,
I will take all that she has taught me,
Spread my wings and fly away,
I can't help but wonder where I'll go.

Wow... this is wonderful. Very appropo and very moving. I loved it. I've been having these thoughts, as I start to college and see my mom looking older, and tired... And think about when I was small...

"We prefer to do things comfortably" said the Controller.
"But I don't want comfort. I want God, I want poetry, I want real danger, I want freedom, I want goodness. I want sin."
"In fact," said Mustapha Mond, "you're claiming the right to be unhappy."
"Alright then," said the Savage defiantly, "I'm claiming the right to be unhappy." -Aldous Huxley "Brave New World"
