to all the days ive wondered what to do all by myself, how to spend my wasted time by finding someone else, why the angel spread her wings to shade me from the sun i'll have to make this toast, and drink until its done ive seen both sides of yeng-yang ive found the bad in good but now i have the good in bad and die for it i would your my light inside the darkness, my angel when life is hell, the white against my blackest fears, and white you wear so well. my silver moon in the starless night, you stand out against it all, the wings upon my flightless soul to carry me should i fall. yes ive seen both sides of yeng-yang, ive seen such bad in good, but ive found you, the good in my bad and die for you i would |

Son of Man- Great poem! I enjoyed it much. Dana- LOL. The Ying-Yang is the anchient religious symbol of the two teardrop shapes construcing a circle. One is black, the other white. At the rounded end of each teardrop is a smaller circle, contained in the shape. For the black teardrop it is white, for the white one, black. If I haven't described it well enough... here's a picture. ![]() It's supposed to represent life. How good and evil are interlaced, and ballanced. You cannot have evil, without good nor good without evil. Also in all evil there is good, and in all good there is evil. The trick of the religion is to accept and acknowlage the evil without becoming a part of it. The Taoist sage Lao Tzu explains this in his text "Tao Te Ching." "The foolish student hears of the Tao and laughs, but without laughter there would be no Tao." Buddihism and Hinduism also use the Ying Yang in their teachings... and now my Eastern religious kick will exit stage left... Hope I explained it! LOL. ...Daysleeper... I really liked this. I always hear about Yeng and Yang, but never about peoples experiences behind it. This poem really made me think, which is a main purpose of a poem. ![]() ~Rachella |
