Being the spectator

It takes a delecate soul to experience the true pain of love

but today instead of me it was someone else

As I watched the poor girl cry

I felt like a ghost watching your loved ones

I wish I could help

but I know whatever I said wouldn't make it better

Tears rolled down her doll cheeks

Her gracious hands held her in comfort

as the pain began to grow increasenly

I wondered seconds,minutes,hours

if this soul will ever survive

but how I ask,

"How did I get to be the spectator when commonly I would feel the pain?"

{This poem is dedicated to all girls or guys who feel the pain in a broken soul}

It's hard to watch another person cry. There's been times I've wondered what type of person would hurt another one so much. I for one don't like being the spectator especially if it's someone I know.

Lovely poem, it is interesting to empathise with another's pain when we know all to well what they must be going through. The question that closes the poem is a good ending I think.

I like this poem a lot! I seem to find myself being both the victim and the spectator these days. It's good to know that people do notice even if they don't say anything. It's hard to know what to say when you see someone cry, but sometimes it's best to not say a thing and just listen for a while. Anyway, keep up the good work!
