*And yet another one of my translations, and again it's from A. Pushkin. I’ve lived to see desire vanish, With hope I’ve slowly grown to part, And I am left with only anguish, The fruit of emptiness at heart. Under the storms of merciless fate My thriving garland whithered lies-- In sadness, lonesome, I await : How far away is my demise? Thus, conquered by a tardy frost, Through gale’s whisteling, I shiver, And on a naked limb exposed A lonesome leaf is left to quiver... "I will not whole die, my soul in sacred lyre, will outlive my dust and will escape decay, And in the moonlit sphere, my glory will not tire As long as poets still remain" A. Pushkin |

This is a really sadly sweet poem. I like it, it hits home for me. Thanks. sKiTtLeS~ "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened." -the words of a friend |

excelent work. Heh, I showed one of the poems you translated to my English teacher today, she really liked it ![]() "Sa souvraya niende missian ye." \ I am lost in my own mind. Some say the world will end in fire, Some say in ice From what I've tasted of desire, I hold with those who favor fire. But if it had to perish twice, I think I know enough of hate To say that for destruction ice Is also great, And would suffice. -Robert Frost |

Once again you have found a remarkable piece. The whole piece is so passionate and deep. I have a question though, from which language do you translate these pieces? ~AF~ "Poetry is the language in which man explores his own amazement." Christopher Fry |

Thank you everyone! Dragon, it's very nice to know that! To tell you the truth I have never showed neither my poems nor my translations to anyone outside my family (and ofcourse the internet). But it's an honor to hear that an english teacher would think that they're good. Anonymousfemale, I've translated them from Russian. |
