*This poem is auto-biographical. I wrote it for my dad, who died in a car wreck four years ago.* Spinning shadows On the walls Your time runs out The curtain falls No goodnight kiss No last embrace No 'daddy's girl' Just empty space Your eyes are closed Your bed is cold Reach out, but find No hand to hold Your song is done The music fades And roses settle On your grave Through sleepless nights And angry tears Dad, have you missed me All these years? The wide-eyed child Whose face you knew Has grown, but still Remembers you I'll always feel This void inside This place left aching Since you died But all the horror In the world Will never stop Your little girl Timothy McGhin (1956-1996) [This message has been edited by LyricFetish (edited 04-13-2000).] |

I have tears in my eyes! I cannot imagine the pain you felt and still feel. This is an amazing poem. I am so sorry for your loss. Lindsay |

This poem.. is so moving.. u must have loved your dad a lot, and I am sure he would be proud of u, and your talent.. this is a nice way to remember someone.. with a poem... especially one as beautiful as this... Lynne |

Thank you both so much. I was a little nervous about posting this cause it's so personal, but I really needed to get it off my chest.
