I seem so happy
everything is going right
this may be true
but why do i cry at night?

some would say i have the perfect life
and except for one thing
they are quite right
and yet this lonely heart makes me cry at night

its not that the one i want
doesnt feel just the same
its all because the one i want
doesnt have a name

empty dreams
lonely days
seeing happy couples
hurts in so many ways

no waiting by the phone
wanting "him" to call
no poetry about "him"
no "him" at all

planning my day around him
imagining days spent by his side
and writing letters never to be sent
are things i long to hide

this loveless life must end soon
it just cant be right
to have no one to dream of
and to cry myself to sleep every night
