This poem is inspired by a poem title given in the Poetry Challenge Forum. Ruler of my Heart Ruler of my heart, what could that be... Love-sweet, innocent and rosy? No, love can give way to pain, If it were love, I would go slowly insane. Ruler of my heart, who takes that seat... Gaiety and joy, pure and complete? No, joy can so easily be taken away, If it were joy, I wouldn’t last a day. Ruler of my heart, whose honor to claim... Could it be a passionate flame? No, a flame too easily burns out, If it were a flame of passion, I’d have nought. Ruler of my heart, I know who you are! I see you every time I look at the stars. It is you, my God, the creator of all, With you ruling my heart, I will ever stand tall. ----------------------------------------------------- Love to everybody in Passions!  |
