To be free or to be enslaved, that is my question. Will no one answer? Will I have to be in turmoil with this burning question for all of eternity? Will I not be able to love? Or will I wander the Earth a lonely mass of passion and desire? Or will I be enslaved in a great mistake and bear the consequences of all that comes with that big mistake. I don't want to live with a mistake that could have been prevented, but yet I don't want to be alone either. Can any one understand my frustration?? To be free or to be enslaved, that is my question. Where is the answer? I love, I desire, I hope, I dream, I cry, I hurt. Can't I be satisfied with the greatest treasure on Earth? I don't want to walk this Earth alone! But the fear of commitment is great, but the pain of being alone is greater. To be free or to be enslaved, that is my question. Will no one answer? " To be free, or to be enslaved, that is the question." |

There are no guarantees or promises that our lives will be without disappointments and frustrations. Challenges will always be there to be surmounted. Strength of courage and spirit will lead you on the best path for yourself. Trust yourself and believe that you will be happy. (I gave this same advice to my daughter as she ventured out into the uncertain world) Enjoyed reading this piece you wrote. |
