what makes me different from her?
is it my appearance?
is it my status?
or is it the fact that i stand up for what i believe in?

i may be outgoing
and i may be arrogant
but for how long exactly
has it been wrong to say what i think?

is it a crime to tell the truth?
to let my feelings show?
would the descrimination stop
if i just lied?

but if i lied
the truth would eventually be unveiled
and once again i would be subjected
to this ongoing torment

as much as i try i simply can't escape
the disapproving glares and head shakes
but for just once in my life i ask you this
for the good of my sanity just get off my back

I liked your poem a lot. I can really relate to it and it's got a lot of truth in it. i'm new to passions too and so far it's been really cool. good poem!

Poetry_kills: this was written for a friend. she was having a hard time with a person who was looking down on her and crushing her self esteem.
