Kindergarten was years ago,
When we used to play and dance.

Who knew the loves,
We’d have and lose?

Dances, pep rallies,
And football games.
These are the things,
I remember most.

This place has been home,
For so many years.

Now we must leave,
And follow our calling.

We all shall follow a path,
To which our future leads.
I’ll never forget the football games,
Dances, and everything between.

My heart has been won,
By the Class of 2001.

Tamma,
I am of the class of 2000 but I must say your poem voices how I'm feeling about my impending graduation that is 3 months away.

"The worst of what people do to one another is deceive.
Because when you love someone you control their version
of reality. If you lie to them that's like making them
autistic so that what they believe is reality is in fact,
not their true situation at all.

For every love, there is a heart somewhere to receive it".--Ivan Panin

tamma: *heh* i couldn't stand high school (or most of the people in it), but i'm glad you had a good experience... this is a good poem... i dont understand the 2 stanza/ 4 stanza thing though... perhaps you should make them all couplets? or quartets?...

sincerely,

slapped upon the land---slap! slap! slap!

Nice poem.  Life has passages, and we gracefully move from one stage to another, remembering the things that meant the most.
I hope your going to college.  The higher education is important, and the personal experiences there are even more exciting than the ones your leaving behind.
Best wishes
