nights brought security and truthfully your love brought sanity saved me from iniquity i was caught in a motionless dream have been caught lately lying through my teeth feeling disdain for no certain reason except for seeing your trusting eyes feeling them burn ashen holes through the back of my head so perhaps you're a reason not a cause for my sanity your love tipping the scales again as i live live live the requited iniquity while i was caught and confessed my crime (what it was i can't discern) left my evidence hoping love's persuasion, i suppose but when you were gone that instant night fell and again, love took the moon and again and again you persuaded me of my sanity it fell upon me somehow....... _________________________ ....the words that stand still are often the ones that move us most.... |
