Restless Slumber-Part 1 and Part 2

I figured that I would post both parts of this together to save space.

Restless Slumber

I lie awake
Tossing and turning
Thinking
Thoughts that will not allow me to sleep
I feel as if I will remain awake for an eternity
Or at least until I see him
Until I am able to stare into those deep blue eyes
And watch the corners of his mouth
Turn up into a smile
I sigh and turn over
Sleep is still so far off

Restless Slumber Returns

The knot gets tighter
And I think
I wait for the next day to come
One day closer to him
I can't help but lie here
Awake
Lost without his eyes upon me
Smiling down at me
The knot tightens
I try so hard
To forget
To sleep
But to no avail.
My longing continues, intensifies,
The clock ticks on
Hours pass
Hours closer
TO him
It's so hard to breathe
I'm gasping for air
Without him beside me
I cannot think
I cannot function
All I want is a glimpse
A smile
Some piece of him
To carry with me into the night
So I can sleep
And I can dream

singer: i've felt this more than i wish i ever had... mine often comes on planes or busses on my way to see my love... i think you express yourself well in this poem and i hope that the day you had together was worth it

This was great. I know that feeling. I had it last weekend when I went to see the girl I have so many strong feelings for. Your writings have been great. I have looked forward to each post that you have made as well as the ones that shall follow this one! Good job as always!
