Love, A Memory


I remember love very well

I remember the love that I felt
You  were very close to me then
A memory in my heart is kept
A memory from a dreamy heaven

I remember you talking to me
with your brown eyes smiling
and conceded to unspoken plea
as you moved into closer filing

I whispered a hushed tone in your ear
You allowed me a hesitant approach
aside you had brushed a strand of hair
" tell me, and fear not a reproach"

How had they been in wit abound ?
those words I said to win your laugh
my heart a dance to twirl around
at music in the trumpet’s draft  

Ever so more I was mighty pleased
in joy I bathed and in  glee I basked
as a touch of silken skin appeased
the prayer which my god I asked

"Silence there in the third row"
A voice interrupted our  rejoicing
"I told you to keep your voices low"
The teacher kept on harassing


But I remember love very well
