“All I Ever Wanted, (Was To Ride The Rodeo)” I drawed up bad in Dallas, Bucked off in San Antone.. What we saved up last season- I know is almost gone. I’ve got too old and crippled For the rough stock in more- It scares me when I think of what- The future holds in store. Chorus: ‘Cause all I ever wanted Was to ride the rodeo. The big one up in Cheyenne, And in Boise, Idaho. To make it to the Finals- And a buckle made of gold- All I ever wanted Was to ride the rodeo. I broke an arm last August- Just like you said I would- December, in the standings I wasn’t looking good. The kid’s make me feel foolish When they’re coming out the gate, I guess when you are thirty four, There just ain’t no easy eight. I said, “This is the last one...” While walking out the door. You sure did look disgusted.. Said, “I’ve heard that line before”. Try to understand me, Why I load the truck and go- “Cause all I ever wanted Was to ride the rodeo. ------------------ Live large, people! ~GS~ |
