One on a cot behind steel bars and one in thr grass under the stars. A couple apart by a crime of mistake trembling with fear while in each heart there's ache. This desperate man, unjustly accused leaves her all alone, nowhere amused. During the night he's taken away leaving her behind right where she lay. Six weeks pass, the moment has come will he be jailed or free will he run? The time is now, seconds of doom Everyone's seated in the old courtroom. Tension is high, no dry palms in the place except for the judge with an expressionless face. The decision is read, eyes are all lit- sentenced for life, for a crime he did not commit! ------------------ ~*~ Time erases and rewrites all the lines. What remains is the poetry! ~*~ |

Oh, this is too sad. I'm sure it happens more often than any of us realize. ------------------ Denise |
