It was not You stood in a Harris tweed coat But it was not the coat. Your blonde hair blew across your face But it was not your hair. Your brown eyes searched the area But it was not your eyes. There came a broad smile on your face But it was not your smile Your shape was something else to see But it was not your shape. Your nose shown the light of the sun But it was not your nose. There were prominent freckles there But it was not the freckles. It was something down deep inside That lit me with a smothering pride That filled my heart just to know That there you stood from head to toe The promise of my search my goal The other half of my soul. |
