What is this Game Boy, Pikachu?
You think that I should play with you.
It's so complex, yet you're so small -
Ash Ketchum wants to "Catch 'em All"

Swap two for one, diamond and star
Tell me again - What's foil's par?
You play and trade with other boys
Squirtle, Wartortle, then Blastoise.

Each one evolves. What will it be?
From Caterpie to Butterfree -
Weedle, Kakuna, then Beedrill,
Their energies I'm learning still.

Already Master Pokémon,
As metamorphed you know each one.
To Charizard from Charmander,
All this from a kindergartner!

Confusion reigns - The simple scoop's
When hippest craze was hula hoops.

ROTFL...

Thanks Denise...

So, deVine - I bet you can twirl a mean hula hoop though - and I wouldn't want to ask these Pokémon kids to try that - They'd be lost!!...

I could only twirl a hula-hoop on my arm, it was much later that I learned to move my hips like that!

Sad part is: now when you tell a kid to go outside and play, they take their GameBoy's and sit on the porch. Doesn't anybody shoot marbles anymore? Tricky topic treated well, Nan.

The F.B.I. has issued a warning to all state and local law enforcement to be aware of counterfeit Pokeman cards. The ringleader of an emerging national crime syndicate seems to be centered on the seashore in Eastern Massachusetts. All law enforcement please be on the lookout for an attractive, intelligent female who often disguises as an educator. Often heard reciting poetry to die for. (dangling participle? never understood grammar) Last seen gyrating on the beach with a bizarre circular object around her waist.

Addendum: Approach the suspect with caution.
She is armed (yes of course she had two arms... sheesh) with a erudite vocabulary which she has been known to use on unsuspecting victims. Possible defensive tactics might include apples or hall passes.
btw.. enjoyed the poem.

My first grader knows them all by heart. I just smile and nod...LOL.

The suspect will dazzle you with her wit and charm. Approach with caution, her words casts spells and she will slip away unnoticed. Highly dangerous!

Last seen, aging female educator, attractive, slim, with circular tubular plastic hoop with engaging sound of "rattling" [remember those?] when activated around suspect's waist...

suspect's motions are a rapid back and forth thrust of the waist and hip region with some side to side movements to counterbalance the momentum of the "hoop".

WARNING. Suspect is not dangerous, but that hoop can be! [Known to put backs out...]

Great job, Nan!

My son and daughter recently joined the Pokemon craze and I had to figure out what a "pickajew" was before I corrected them for being offensive. GEESH!!! That IS a sign of aging..isn't it? LOL

My apologies Nan! I missed this one! My kids all 3, are into Pokemon. It is pretty cute, I do get into the Pokemon snap game. That's pretty cool, as for the trading and all that stuff, I haven't got a clue. Great poem Nan!

Well, Nan,
Mikey gave me the run down on this, though retention of this I find similiar to remembering how to spell the ingrediants of a Hostess Twinkie. Indeed, he got a kick out of your poem, though. Oh, and he loved your little Pikachu graphic.
