Its not those blue eyes
That make my heart melt
But flattering words
You told me, I felt.

Not very often
Are they words that I hear
When you say them to me
My eyes start to tear

It's my great weakness
Those words I long for
My heart opens wide
My mind shuts the door

Thoughts that I'm having
Don't know that I should
If I could explain
You know that I would.

It's quite confusing
The way that I feel
Your words they mean much
They have great appeal

Those flattering words
I know to beware
Can't seem to help it
They just draw me near

I want to reach out
Run into your arms
I know if I did
It might cause much harm

I can't seem to stop
My thoughts are of you
I push them away
They still come back through

I know these feelings
Come cuz what I've lacked
Don't want to scare you
Just can't turn my back

My face lights right up
When you come on line
You make me feel special
Most all of the time

Think I will stop
Don't know what to say
Cept that I'm hoping
You don't run away

Great poem, Dovey. We all like to be acknowledged for our qualities and it is natural to feel close to those who take the time to do so. You have many, which shows in your poetry and your sincerity. If there is someone who makes you feel good by pointing out the good things about you, there's no need to take action. Simply enjoy the fortune to have a good friend. If you feel this person is trying to take advantage of you, run for your life. But many friendships have been formed here at Passions. This could be one.

This is a lovely poem, WhtDove. It is amazing the flurry of emotion that can overwhelm us from someone saying just the right words to you, almost as if they reach down into your soul. Beautifully done, you have captured the moment with this one.

Succeeds the glory of the bowl -
An idle longing night and day
To dream my very life away

Magnificent!
And who says you can't feel for someone you've never met? The hert and mind of a person are what's important, and I can see you recognize that!
