Listening to every heart

Treasures (for Pepper)

There is a sweet peace that presides in me
when someone reads my simple homilies
and then to find I’ve inspired someone’s mind
a feel for wording, something that rhymes.

I’ve recently found some pleasant leisure in
sharing poetry with the best of friends ~
I’ve nothing to fear, and nothing to hide,
my shyness has taken a backseat ride.

Then taking another step, one that is large
I’ve gone from small ship to a great barge
in attempting a children’s story, simple, true;
and now IT’S out for opine and review!

Oh my, where are my footsteps now taking me?
Some place, it seems, where there looms mystery!
Will my work be ever praised or duly condemned?
Oh never mind, fear nor sorrow I shall not spend

because my work is from love in my heart,
I’ve learned that these simple words do impart
A gift of sorts, to people world ‘round,
‘tis a treasure I’m given, and peace that I’ve found.

Whtdove, Thanks! It took Pepper a long time to get up the courage to post a piece, but she did, and we should all be proud of her...and anyone who can get over the shyness of pouring out their soul's thoughts.

I couldn't have said it better...well spoken Pepper
