somewhere on the path of life
my steps strayed
and I lost sight of my life's beacon

I followed flickers of light
across earth's stormy shores
searching
seeking
calling for anyone to hear my plea

empty and aching inside
head swelled in pride
I turned away the one hand
extended in my plight

the one true heart that sought me
that accepted me as I was
imperfect and battle weary
the one heart who wiped my salt-worn eyes
and soothed my fears
with a healing balm of true love

when finally the storm broke
and the misty air cleared
I saw my path home
back to the doorstep
from which my journey had started

I'm sure the horses are happy to have you back! A beautiful poem, Izzy......signed, Balladeer, the fella you used to like and pay attention to a long time ago when the air was fresh and cool and the fresh scent of lilacs filled the evening breeze as we discussed life in general, making each other smile with our silly remarks before you began ignoring me completely, which I haven't really noticed.

Izzy,
I really feel the pain in some of your work, my hear goes out to you. Points to ponder..wouldst thou be able to share love coming home having not learned it elsewhere?
Wonderful work as always.
