God is just a mile away to those of little faith,
But my God is just a cry away and has never once been late.
God can hear the faintest cry or even the deepest sigh.
God can hear a fallen bird just before he dies.

Sometimes loud, sometimes low, I hear this voice inside
God is talking to my soul and the joy is hard to hide.
And as we put our trust in Him
When times are dark and bleak,
You’ll find Him down inside of you,
Just take the time to seek.

So if He seems so far away
That your soul is disquiet within,
Heavens doors seem closed to you,
Then check your life for sin.

For God is not a mile away,
He’s knocking at your door,
Listen for his tender voice,
I love you, don’t you know?

Heaven is so far away
When troubles are drawing near,
But the sensitive ear of Calvary’s Lamb
Can hear a falling tear.

Faith is all you need today
To approach the Heavenly throne.
You’ll never have to feel forsaken,
He’s never left you alone.
