Circus The parade passed by in colorful procession with music and dancers and animals tethered to wagons that moved with guided progression down the street to the tent that was weathered and torn. With tickets in hand and pennies in pockets to purchase the wares of carnival venders peanuts, popcorn and candy on the dockets of children in britches so big that suspenders were worn. Three rings were arranged with performers in view as we marched to the stands in militant fashion and the ringmaster's voice commanded the ado with eloquent expressions till our passion was born. So close to the action it felt as though we performed on horseback at full gallop in sawdust fields and played in the band all plumed and uniformed in such an imaginative wonderful way that youth yields with scorn. Yet, it was all over as quickly as it began the field was empty with only tracks left behind like memories in the circus of the life of a man who, if our search is successful, we find forlorn.
