That place with padded walls and funny people in white.........

She stumbles along
Pale with shock; green with jealousy
She had never imagined....

She heard their voices
Laughing, forever mocking her
~Suddenly overcome by the call of the sea~

The dirt lane she traversed
Seemed in her mind to be
The yellow brick road to her final destiny

He had been the same as everyone else-after all
~Betrayal~
-But-He was love (love endures)
And love is hope (A bird with broken wings)
~Hope is suicide~

Her emotions boiled over-
A lifetime of hiding it all inside finally paid off
Apathy vanished
As anguish tore her apart
And her soul was bloodied and raw
Feelings were born anew-
And she couldn't take it

She honestly hoped they would be forever happy
In the knowledge that they had killed her

This is where her sunny road came to an end
On the edge of this craggy cliff
Waves crash on the rocks below-
Seemingly still tinted red

For this is where she stood,
Gazing at the moonlit waters
Silhoueted by the lighthouse glare
In silvered grass

She spread her wings
-(Yes the broken ones-the only ones she has)-
And for a brief moment she flew (Straight down)
Hoping no one would save her
And no one did

So very sad, SD. I can understand the sentiments in this piece almost too well..this was very very well done.

Denise, Ruth, and Alwye, thank you for the replies. I am just glad this hasn't happened to me, and (foolish me) I have trust in the fact that it won't.

Watcher and Pepper, thank you. It reflected my mood at the time, and (**sigh**) my current mood.

I love this SD. It reflects my mood also.

And her soul was bloodied and raw...
And her words were razor sharp and poised to slash at my heart...

Love this!!
