I picked the note up from the floor
"The limousine will be here at eight
(I checked my watch I had 2 hours)
wear the black and don't be late"

I walked to the kitchen to make a coffee
thinking about the identity of the mystery man
Would I be safe, where would we go?
I'd wait till he arrived and then devise a plan

On the stroke of eight the limousine arrived
the chauffeur knocked and handed me a rose
cap in hand the car door was opened for me
relaxing in the back I struggled not to doze

I tried to map the route but darkness had already pulled in
sipping my glass of chablis as the car carried on its way
slightly apprehensive but loving this romantic gesture
waking up this morning and now a dream to end my day

The limousine pulled up slowly and stopped at the kerb
I didn't know the area but the doorman dressed quite well
The private house was a restaurant and charmingly disguised
I asked the maƮtre d' but he said "I promised not to tell"

Glass in hand I listened to the man softly playing the piano
whilst a waiter went off to find the man I was to meet
Heart thumping madly but trying to appear so very calm
The waiter came back with a note "my trick or your treat?"

Is this your plan for tonight, RainbowGirl?

I like the black dress line, do you always wear black in your dreams?

Yes, I admit your general rule. That every poet is a fool:
But I myself may serve to show it. That every fool is not a poet.

Let me get this straight, Rainbow. A mystery man asks you out, sends a limousine complete with chauffeur who hands you a rose, you don't know where you're going....and you sit in the back seat and struggle not to doze?! WOW! You are one tough lady to impress!!

A rose, a glass of Chablis, a charming restaurant with a man playing piano ... he definitely knows how to treat you ... ... Like Hoot, I'm waiting for Part 2
