The night before.. I'm sitting here at work today, Looking through my office window, I see the trees, swaying in the breeze, Whilst I'm inside feeling so low. I woke this morning at half past four, Sat up in bed, put my feet on the floor, I placed my head into my hands, Because it felt so, so sore. The night before, I was out with my mates, Drinking beer in the usual place, I can promise now & clearly say, Drinking's not good if you've work the next day. I look at the clock and think to myself Not long left now, its almost twelve. The days seems to go, so damn slow, Each bloomin' time I feel this low. Next time I'll think the night before, Eleven thirty's enough, then I'm out the door. Then into a cab and home to bed, This way I'll look after my precious little head. ~~ A little warning to all those who cannot say "no!" |

Very good point- My father is an alchoholic, and would drink every night before work. I'd give this to him....but he's not working any more, plus my dad would never understand poetry. nice job here  ------------------ "Despite all my rage, I am still just a rat in a cage." -Billy Corgan- |

Yep, yep, yep...that's why my hubby now only goes to the pub when he has off the next day! Can't function very well the next day! Personally, I don't know why anyone subjects themselves to this miserable feeling at any time. But I know many who do. I don't see the attraction. The couple of times I've felt that way were enough for me! Very good poem! ------------------ Denise |
