The heart of a poet, Is a treasure indeed - A chest full of passions, Longing for others to see - Silver and Gold, Even jewels if you will - As the poet pours forth, It gives him a thrill - To share what he feels, Deep down in the heart - Coming forth with emotions, From out of the dark - Very few there are, That have such a gift - Who can hear a heart speak, Pen thoughts that uplift - So God gave us the Poet, Who can tell us what we feel - Able to describe ones own emotions, He moves us with his zeal - While discerning our hearts, They tend to draw us near - Thank you God for the Poets, Whom to us we deem so dear... ------------------ A man's heart often cannot see the light - because of the darkness of it's own motives.... - James David |
