I wrote this a long time ago and came across it in a mound of paperwork. Let me know what ya all think, as I'm sure you will. LOL

I am not ashamed of my eyes, for these are the eyes the LORD has given me to see HIS creation and HIS children.

I am not ashamed of my ears, for these are the ears the LORD has given me to hear the sounds of HIS creation, HIS truth, and HIS word.

I am not ashamed of my mouth, for it is the mouth the LORD has given me to spread HIS love to others.

I am not ashamed of my hands, for these are the hands the LORD has given me to do HIS work.

I am not ashamed of my arms, for these are the arms the LORD has given me to love others with and to hold and comfort with.

I am not ashamed of my legs, for these are the legs the LORD has given me to carry me where HE wants to go.

I am not ashamed of my feet, for these are the feet the LORD has given me to walk in HIS ways.

I am not ashamed of who I am, because this is the body the LORD has given me to do HIS work while I'm here. If I am ashamed it should be only because of the way that I use the tools that were given me, and that is always changeable. We can change it to be something we are proud of and not ashamed of.

One should never be ashamed of who or what they are, we are all individuals and that's what makes us special

This is very beautiful, WhtDove. We all start our life with whatever God has given us. And God doesn't make mistakes. I'd like this poem if it was so old it had a beard.

I'll let ya all in on a litte background here.
1. Because women seem to suffer from low self esteem, and I am among them.
2. Because my best friend suffers from an awful case of it. I wrote this for her!

Ruth, Tori and Denise thank you so much!

Hey now!!!
Sexist remark!!!
(I have a problem with my esteem sometimes too! )
But not TOO often!
Never ashamed, for we can all be only who we are, right?

D.A. thanks girl!

Christopher, I guess men suffer from it too.
Yes, we can be who we are, the point being sometimes people don't realize just what it is that they are. Like my friend for instance. Thanks bud!

WhtDove: I came across this a while back and thought you may enjoy - hope so..

*****

A friend asked a gentleman how it is that he never married ?

Replied the gentleman, "Well, I guess I just never met the right woman ... I guess I've been looking for the perfect girl."

"Oh, come on now," said the friend, "Surely you have met at least on girl that you wanted to marry."

"Yes, there was one girl .. once. I guess she was the one perfect girl .. the only perfect girl I really ever met. She was just the right everything .. I really mean that she was the perfect girl for me."

"Well, why didn't you marry her," asked the friend.

"She was looking for the perfect man," he said.

Thanks Rainbow...I did enjoy that! How true it is. I know I can dream of the perfect man, I know I'll never find him...vice versa.

Thanks for sharing that!

Dove, this reminds me of a card I got from my ex once: "NEVER BE ASHAMED OF WHAT YOU ARE - by the way, what are you?" Thanks for bringing back the memory.
