Tell me a story, tell me a joke,
make my trobule go away
for just a moment
a smile to my face to evoke.
Bring me giggles
and laughter of tears
remove all my frustrations
till my belly wiggles.
Turn my problems into a jester,
making it so ridiculous
that the world fills with laughter
over a little problem that I've festered.
Be a friend and tell me whether
or not life is fun,
being silly like a child
pretending together.
Not in a way to hurt another
but a way that lightens the load
like those little secrets
you'd tell from beneath the covers.
Finding everything funny
even when it was really dumb.
When no one "got it," but
me, you, and the Easter Bunny.

Show me that life was meant to be funny.

Very good, Julie. How precious it is to have have someone around to lighten the load even for just a moment. This is a good rhyme sceme not used too often called the "envelope" where the first and last lines of each stanza rhyme and envelope the two interior lines. You handled it very well.

Thanks Denise! Many a day my friends here at Passions has lightened my load even when they didn't know it.

Balladeer, thank you...esp for the input about the format...I have a question posted in Q&A, would appreciate your input there...I sometimes find myself in a dilemma.

Thanks Pepper...I recently read that we are the only animals that have this ability. I don't believe that was an accident!

I like this very much, Julie... laughter does lighten the load... even if for only a moment.
