A saucer moon That lay in the skies; Black velvet On a warm summer night. Diamonds on the water, Sand beneath your feet; Child of a thousand fantasies, Always dancing to a different beat. A single red rose Falls from your hand; Its velvety petals Scatter upon the sand; And the waves wash over you, Taking with them The life I once knew, Leaving nothing behind But memories Of a love that was true. ------------------ Shannon D.
