Your Story Too©1998 Genea Parker I write to touch the souls, of all who want to hear About the things close to my heart, and things not so near. I write to tell my story, because it needs to be told. My story will be new to some, and others too close to home. My story is not mine to tell. It belongs to more than me. I am only here to share it, So others may be free. Just listen to the words You know these words are true. I see it in your eyes tonight This is… your story too. Life is full of many joys, and sometimes many sorrows. Sharing both with one who knows, can change all our tomorrows. A burden is much lighter, when two can carry the load. A solitary soul collapses, travelling a solitary road. Your eyes give you away, I see your soul and sigh. Let me share this pain with you, holding you close as you cry. Why do you hold it inside? Don’t you think I know you? I see it in your eyes tonight, this is your story too. I feel it in your arms tonight, It is a bitter sweet truth. I feel it in the way you kiss me This is…your story too. ------------------ Thanks for taking the time to read. Comments welcome! :-) |

You speak truth in rhyme and meter. Very nice. Looking forward to reading more. |

doreen, I have always prefered to write in rhyme, although i do defer to non-rhymes from time to time. Thanks for commenting. ~Genea |

Your message is wonderful - and your presentation is equally as great - I like the diversified stanza format - I'm also a die-hard rhyme and meter proponent, as you can see... So, the more different we seem, the more we're actually alike??? |

Hello Genea! I really appreciated the truth in your poem. We all need each other, but many times the road of hard knocks hardens us. Thus our desire to allow people into our tender heart feels painfully familuar, so thus our journey down the road of trust begins. Thankyou again Tammie |
