TEXAS (it's all big)

There is a big black hole opening up in my bedroom wall.
My closet door cannot keep me from a bottomless fall.
There goes my dog and, oh great, there goes my cat.
Teacher won’t believe where my homework is at.
This thing happened to my closest friend Lloyd.
That poor guy got sucked into a cosmic void.
And not a soul has seen him since that day.
I think that I would like to keep it that way!
All of those scary stories must be true.
If mom was here what would she do?
She’d say, “That’s the way it goes.”
She'd at least scratch my nose.
As this poem is getting dumb.
Fingers are becoming numb.
Not much longer I’ll hold on.
Miss me while I am gone.
Oh noooooooooo!
Gotta gooooo.
(Sigh)
Bye

Trippy is good. I once got stuck in a cosmic void, then I got a divorced.

Ditto Nan.
You be the man!
Cool little song.
Not too long.
Liked how the woids
drift to cosmic voids.

That's way out, Walt. If poetry is a combination of imagination and innovation, I'd say you struck the bullseye dead square! Very enjoyable. Thanks!

Nice work! I really enjoyed the staggered words... that was a refreshing change of pace from the ordinary! Fun, too. Thanks for sharing it with us.

I love the title and the poem remains funny - even years later.
