Listening to every heart

Waiting, I’m Waiting

Waiting, I’m waiting, I want to see
the reflection in my lover’s eyes of me.
I want to hear his voice within my ear,
I want to feel him hold me near.

I don’t want much, just the very all of him.
I want to take his heart, hold it in my hands,
and above all I want him to understand
that I am his, forever, I’ll be at his command.

Yes, I know this is not feminism at its very best
but I love it when he holds me to his chest,
I love it when against him I can rest,
I love being all of his, it’s the very best.

OK, so I’m repeating myself, and you find it ridiculous
to hear from a woman who thinks of two as “Us”
and as a romantic, I still take my clue
from memories of my parents, lovers true.

They had the secret, I know for a fact
loving was something they didn’t lack.
The days give me plenty of work and flack
in the nighttime, it’s my husband I want to attack!

Not with words or rolling pins or threats or growls
but to him I want to pretend to be on the prowl,
to be a kitten, a cat, a feline sublime
and I want him to get me purring somehow.

He has his ways, I’ll not share them here,
you’ve got your ways, you’ve nothing to fear.
Waiting, I’m waiting, I want to see
the reflection in my lover’s eyes of me.

I know the feeling! The comfort of curling up with the man you love, nestling your head under his chin, feeling those secure wonderful arms - and knowing that you're giving him comfort too - better than a hot bath (even sex!) any day. Love your poem.

Sunshine... great sentiments, pussy cat/Tiger. Some of your stanzas differed from others in their meter, and you seemed to slip in places. Overall, the message came through loud and clear - you've got a lucky hubby.

Here's a secret about me that i'm gonna share with every darn person that read's this....I have always been the "independant" woman who needs no one and nothing - but you know what I value most of all? When I have a man who is "stronger" than me....and to have him take me in his arms, I feel safe like a child.....and it's that moment that I let him be the strong one...and I am free to be weak and helpless, safe against him....Even the strongest of women eventually resort back to the strength within the arms of a man......it's instinct from our caveman days, and yet it still drives us today ! ( I still like to be drug around by my hair too - is that taking it too far? Do I need counseling??!!) he he he Me Jane !
