I feel your heart beating against my chest. Holding you in my arms is sweet release. I chose you my dearest from all the rest. The nape of your neck I bend down to kiss. You press against me watching the sunset. When first we met I did not expect this. Not meeting you sooner is my regret. I touch your cheek and find it wet with tears. The look in your eyes is brimming with love. Holding you close has quieted my fears. I want you with me forever, my dove. With you in my arms we drift off to sleep. Loving you takes away my need to weep. ©1999 DreamEvil ------------------ Shall I indulge in flights of fancy hampered by clipped wings? DreamEvil© |

As you know, I will be honest with you about your poetry. This time, I've decided to do it openly in this forum instead of privately in an e-mail. Scott, this is truly a wonderful poem! Your range has now come full circle. I worried that you would forever hold the darkness in front of you as a shield and not allow the 'loving side' to show. In this poem, you've accomplished that. I look back over your body of work and see a progression not just in your style but also in your relationships to other people. You are, to me, the symbol of what our community of poets should be. You joined us and posted nothing but dark poetry...then you began to explore other formats and gradually your versatility showed. We should all learn as you have and be able to grow, to expand/change our style and depth. I may not always respond to your poetry, as I've said, sometimes it's just too dark for me (although I do admire your work). But I proudly respond to this one. A full circle! A great poem! Congratulations! |

Wow Dream, I love seeing this side of you..and you did it so exquisitely also. The light isn't as bad as one may think..exellent work, my friend. ------------------ *Krista Knutson* I see the world through the loving eyes of my heart, and suffer the pain of unfulfilled visions. -- Daniel L. dreamEvil, I never doubted the ying and yang if thats the right spelling. In order to know day you must have night. There can be no understanding of yes without no. So I never doubted both were in you. Enjoyed the poem. |

Scott... I don't know what to say about this one but that I really loved it. That peacefullness you speak of is something, as you well know that, I long for. To rest like that, without fear, without tears is something I dream of on a daily basis. Safe in the confines of anothers love, I can think of no plcae I'd rather be and you brought across this idea beautifully. This poem indeed spoke to me. Your level of skill is progressing on a daily basis and this side of you is wonderful to see. I am so proud to know you. ------------------ "Nobody has measured, not even poets, how much the heart can hold" ~Zelda Fitzgerald |

Thank you everyone. Lady deVine your praise not only touches me but honors me as well. I think perhaps that I need to clarify things about this. I still dislike the Light, it still hurts while Darkness is a blessing indeed. I do not think the benefits of the Light are worth the pain that it causes. I could be wrong but I will not spend a lifetime filled with such pain just to be proven right about something. My need for validation is not as strong as the need to be pain free. ------------------ Life is pain is poetry, at least I'll be productive. DreamEvil© |

Scott, your poem describes blissful, peaceful, love. I only pray that I could feel it for an eternity, but it is not to be. So I will grab the pieces of it that I can, and try to appreciate it. ![]() BTW I can relate very well to your comment about the light hurting, and the darkness being a sanctuary. Sometimes, you can only truly appreciate the light when you have known the darkness. But other times, we become so accustome to darkness we can no longer enjoy the light. ------------------ "Despite all my rage, I am still just a rat in a cage." -Billy Corgan- |
