Every person I have ever known,
in at least one way is cruel.
Many will reap what so few have sown,
casual spite is their tool.

That lesson was so hard to relearn,
I won't forget it again.
Their attentions you should always spurn,
I am speaking of women.

I set myself up for pain it's true,
but only because I care.
That decision I have come to rue,
but what other choice is there?

I can't give up on humanity,
though on some I always will.
God must laugh at this insanity,
that makes me love women still.

So I'll step back and watch the romance,
until my scarred heart does heal.
In time I'll give them another chance,
then I'll pursue them with zeal.

Oh DreamEvil, this makes me so sad to here you talk like this.....you're too good of a man to have such a cold & broken heart......when you find that Zeal, I hope I'm one you chase! he he I ran distance in track, the "8 mile sprint..." Hope you're up for it ! I can still outrun any man!! You should see my legs......

I also like it, Dream! I am a woman myself, and have seen so many other women act so cruelly-ouch.

I've seen women tread hard on a guy they supposedly love and vice versa but I am very glad that you are still willing to give another a chance. Not all are heartbreakers.

Great poem DreamEvil.
I can relate 100% to everything you've said here.
Give it time, though,
There's a good one out there somewhere I'm sure.

poetFemmeFatale,
The gift of your compassionate regard takes the chill from my weary heart. As for the chase, I much prefer to go slow and prolong the pleasure of the hunt. I am more than up for the chase, however I must tell you that I don't follow the rules. I must admit though, I'd let you win just to view those gorgeous legs from behind.

Michael, my Dark friend, I knew that you would understand this one.
