Love sings to each of us a different song; To each, a varied countenance reveals -- To some, submissive; others, proud and strong -- Each perfect face to only one belongs, So many masks, each uniformly real: For love, in any guise, is never wrong. Unseen, into our fragile souls, she steals And wraps them in a blissful reverie ... She probes the secrets that the heart conceals, Unlocks our deepest dreams and makes them real; While on her lips that tender melody That sings of joy we never thought to feel. And though our songs might most disparate be, So rich with a distinction all our own, Your voice and mine comingle perfectly In this unique, unending harmony: Those gentle hymns, though beautiful alone, Are sweeter still when you and I are "we"! I would like to know what this conveys ... both what it appears to say and what might be read into it ... I am trying to improve my skills in keeping my message clear ... I think I may have failed with this piece ... Any and ALL interpretations are welcomed and encouraged. Thanks. ------------------ "Nunc lento sonitu dicunt, morierus" (Now as I hear this bell tolling softly for another, it says to me, "Thou must die.") |

what I see in this is....even though we are all very different and unique, and our expectations of love may be different.these differences become something that enhances and lets us blend harmoniously when we do love...but then what do I know?! I do know that I really enjoyed this poem. ------------------ Shannon |

Good poem, Nochtdraco! When I read this, I saw that love is different for each one of us-we expect different things (like Pepper said) and we will interpret those thing diferently...I'll have to think about this one a little more, but I did like it! Good job! ------------------ *Elizabeth* "Dwelt a maid belov'd and cherish'd by high and low, But with autumn leaf she perish'd, long time ago..."
