My Light My dark, handsome friend - You curl around me like a swirl of smoke. You tangle yourself in my thoughts And bend me toward you. I see your many shapes- You mask yourself as harmless to my heart. You blend my love with your hatred And you distort me. I cannot stop you - You have a hold of me too tightly now. You've stolen all my happiness And you hurt me still. My light is gone now- You have blown out the candle of my heart- The fire that had yet to burn With a love that's true. ------------------ www.auburn.edu/~fergum1 ~*Only when it is dark enough can you see the stars*~ |

Again, free verse isn't my thing, but you write quite vividly. ------------------ Shall I indulge in flights of fancy hampered by clipped wings? DreamEvil© |
