written to the one i love ... may she see it here on her next visit ... yes lets try again ...love you still

In my life, I stood alone.
Content in every way.
Going about the things I do,
Minutes becoming days.

Then one day my life did change;
When I met you, friend.
As we shared our private thoughts,
Old feelings stirred again.

So slowly, at first, did we move.
Discussing family, life and art.
The days did pass, a secret kept,
Love growing in my heart.

That first day we did kiss,
How I prayed you'd found,
Showing me such tenderness,
A love,to which, you'd be bound.

It was then, my heart, I gave to you,
My love with each caress;
I hoped to know, that your heart was true;
To my proposals, you'd say yes.

All my love you did reject;
When with others you did stray.
Oh, all the pain you caused;
But, my love, for you, it stays.

Yes, I want you now, as before,
To be my lover and my friend.
Now, I need to know, from you,
Shall we try again?

Smile ... you remind me of someone ... do I know you ...?

If I do ... my answer is yes ...

If not ... oops ... sheepish smile ...

Oh yeah ... did I mention the poem is beautiful..?

I like a persistent man. I'd say yes again.
Nice poem.

Thank you ... Miriam and Pen, your comments are appreciated by this (rank) amateur.
Oh Yeah? ... Hmmm ... well, Nocht, do you ... my mustache is soft ... but I've been known to nip a finger tip or two ... I've edited the poem ...

this is sad, hopeful at the end, but none the less sad. Nice writing, though trying again may not be what you really want. Think hard.

Thank you, Passing and Suthern ... rejection is something none of us wants ... nor to try again under the same cirumstances ...it is easier to say, "love like you've never been hurt, dance like no one is watching" then it is to live that way ... i don't live that way ... but i will take a chance ... thanks for your comments

Well, if she don't say yes, then it's her loss. Well done!
