Breakfast for a Robin Through the window came the morning, Swiftly silent without warning. Showering me in dawns new light, Bathing away the sleep of night. On my sill there perched a robin, Breast of red and head a bobbin, Without the slightest of constrain, Peeking under my window pane. Looking in for I know not what, But quite intent upon some spot. When I noticed on my sill, A silverfish very still. The silverfish jumped to faster And that became a disaster. The robin struck with lightning draw. And the silverfish was no more. The end of night and first of light, I'll have to think, upon this sight. |

Well done and well written. A moment captured in verse. Could you distill it down to a simple haiku? INclan |
