Letters from autumn once wrote of a past, knowing that love had found us at last. Smiles of winter still still echo in dawn. Yet smiles, now frozen, whisper "move on". Trust is an island where hope appears new, and nothing's more precious than all that is you. Spring is a river where change softly cries, drifting from trust, preparing for lies. Hope, ever-drowning, still sings for a mate, Yet souls never found cannot create fate. Our hands, still so soft, mirror hearts of the sun. Letting us go may free us to run. Go find the season where trust doesn't fade; go towards the dreams of promises made. Go to the brightness we both hold so near, free of the sorrow that wakens our fear. And if, in the morning, we grow from this too, there's something still precious in all that was you. ------------------ Grant that I may not judge my niegbor until I have walked a mile in his moccasians Native American prayer |
