My pen drips blood onto the paper The verses that were hiding in my veins Mixed with the ink become much greater My wings drop off the heavy chains The virus leaves my system in my words And melts into the vapor in the air I warn you, do not catch my thoughts I beg you dreamers, please beware It is contagious and it’s hard to cure And only words can save the ill So poets, keep your writing pure And let your poems be your shield ------------------ I fell in love and kept on falling |

this poem is rather interesting in the fact that it reflects how many of us feel when wanting to write something and nothing comes forth for hours, mabe days on end. but when the words finnally begin to grace the page that is joy and release to the extreme. ------------------ If poetry is a reflection of what is in a person's soul, then I am afraid of what is inside of me. |

I enjoyed the basis behind this poem...I think of my poetry more as a release than a shiled though as when I wirte, I am wide open for public view |

By the word "shield" I mean that only more poetry can protect the poets from a writers block. Thanks for your comments. ------------------ I fell in love and kept on falling |

I think your piece is excellent in conveying how writer's block feels...heaven knows I struggle with it so much lately. I really love the first stanza. It's quite dramatic and catches the attention well. ------------------ The only man worth your tears will never make you cry... |
