A Work of Art

One slow stroke of your brush
Lightly coloring my world
Just a tint at first, a new shade of
Life that I had not seen before
Then more boldly the hues appeared and
Turned my world to rainbows of
Color and Light
Infusing my soul with your essence
Your touch
Your sweetness
Applied on my heart with
Gentle artist's wisdom
Drawing me into the sunlight
Which is your love
And it is there that I stay
Never to live in the darkness again
