...and word came from you today
a little note to say
that you still think of me
and I felt
my heart melt
like chocolate
on a hot sidewalk

...and to your hello I replied
and though I tried
I couldn't say it to you
it is pride
makes me hide
and keep that distance

...and so it went, and once again
you wrote to me and then
you said you missed me
in my eyes
a million cries
have had their run
I saved them in a jar

...and one more time I wrote
'twas just a little note
only three words said
~I've missed you~
you know its true
our time has come again
we never said goodbye
