A Star upon the Horizon
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A lack of understanding
confusion clouds the mind
the voice of reason resounding
yet gears of guilt do grind
The shackles have been broken
yet something ties her down
the familiar, the unseen force
her comfort did keep her bound
But who was I to say
that reason was the key
yet to this very day
I hope she'll one day see
The flame that burns so bright
to her is just a star
that could emit such vivid light
if only she weren't so far
So for now I sit in darkness
and hope she'll some day see
that the star upon the horizon
always was and will be me.
